Durobond
Coatings Used in Extreme Conditions |
Silicone Enamel
Durobond has been marketing this product for many years with
outstanding results. A full Silicone Resin system is used,
resulting in very long term protection of both exterior
and interior surfaces. Durobond Silicone Enamel has
become well known in many areas for its excellent resistance
to weathering and salt-water attack. Its chemistry has been
carried over to other areas such as paving finishes, where
exceptional results for adhesion and weather resistance have
been noted. Gloss levels manufactured to your requirements
and colours tinted to your specification.
Major
applications are:
- Beachfront and general property protection
- Boat maintenance, including clear coating.
- Timber decks, and other surfaces likely to receive hard
use.
- Industrial and Commercial maintenance
- General use where long life is important.
- The ONLY clear coating that really resists solar attack
Roof
Enamel - Anti-Corrosive
Durobond Roof Enamel is formulated to withstand the harsh
conditions of temperature, expansion & contraction and
ultra violet attack typical of this environment in Australia. The introduction of the Durobond Anti-Corrosive
technology has provided instant long-term protection against
rust.
Silver
Enamel - Heat Resistant
A silver enamel with a difference! Durobond
Silver Enamel is a bright weather resisting coating useful
for heat resistance to 200C, stain sealing and ink resistance
for graffiti re-coating etc.
Mono-Pack
Polyurethane – Interior Only
Hard wearing coating for many interior surfaces
including timber floors, furniture and as a trim finish. With
correct application floors typically last up to 10 years without
any major maintenance.
Polyurethane
Paving
Durobond Mono-Pack Polyurethane is the base for this products.
It is modified for exterior paving durability
and permanent film flexibility. Use this product wherever
you need a coating tougher than the paving finishes sold in
retail stores. The chemical resistance of Durobond Polyurethane
Paving lends itself to such applications as the coating of
surfaces subject to splattering from concrete, petrol, oil
etc.
Timber
Dressing / Exterior Oil Stain
This is an oil rich sealer and weather proofing treatment for timbers and particle boards. The product is available in an opaque finish as Timber Dressing or semi-transparent finish as Exterior Oil Stain. Both finishes contain essential oils to protect the timber cells from the effects of weathering including premature drying, ultra-violet attack, dry rot and termite attack, and assisting prevention of grain splitting. Available in neutral toned "Natural Cedar" or made to your colour specification. Makes an excellent primer / undercoat for top coating with enamels and water based paints.
Danish Oil (also known as Scandinavian Oil)
Durobond Danish Oil is UV blocked for added exterior protection. The product provides an attrative finish with a soft "oiled" appearance. Its film is tough and scratch resistant.
Copper
Wood Preservative
Retards dry rot. Particularly useful for the protection of
timbers with poor weathering properties. Widely used on beehives.
Effective for rot protection in construction work on surfaces
that will be inaccessible later. Deterrent against termites
and other bugs.
Duro-Cote
A
brilliant product giving permanent sealing and protection
of porous surfaces against moisture and atmospheric attack.
It renders the capillaries hydrophobic; rain water is repelled
from the surface. Resists ultra violet attack and penetration
of carbonic acid from atmospheric smog. Whilst preventing
water absorption, the film allows moisture vapour to escape
from within the substrate. Virtually invisible Duro-Cote leaves the surface with a natural appearance.
Use on sandstone, brick, concrete block, masonry, concrete pavers.

Solvent
Based Preparatory Coatings
Wood
Primer
Penetrating oil based primer for all uncoated exterior
timbers. Oils and protects the timber against grain
splitting, dry rot and tannin staining. Provides excellent
base for enamel and water based undercoats.
All
Purpose Undercoat
Still the most chosen undercoat for general use, being suitable
for both interior and exterior applications. Smooth flowing,
easy to apply. Preferred for all woodwork, and many other
substrates because of its free- sanding and grain
filling properties, which provide an exceptionally
smooth surface for superior finishing.
Excellent base for both water and solvent based finishes.
Pigmented
Sealer
White, penetrating oil based sealer for new and old surfaces.
Binds chalky surfaces. Seals in water stains. New cement must
be adequately cured before coating. Weather resistant, chalk
resistant properties make this product ideal as a finished
coating for post and rail fences, either by itself or combined
with All Purpose Undercoat for a lower sheen.
Penetrating
Sealer
Clear oil based sealer specially formulated for deep penetration
into chalky and porous surfaces. Strong binding properties.
Used extensively to bind asbestos cement roofing and for the
encapsulation of asbestos fibres in preparation for coating
with Durobond Flexi-Guard Insulating & Waterproofing Membrane.
Primer
Surfacer (Enamel)
Excellent fast drying, high-filling undercoat. Fills deeper
timber grain, ready for sanding and finishing in around 4 hours. Brush or spray
application. Maybe top coated with enamel or water based finishes.
Primer
Surfacer (Acrylic Lacquer)
Very fast drying undercoat/filler. Usually sprayed in industrial
applications, may be brushed on smaller articles. Dries to
sand in as little as 30 minutes. Suitable for timber, MDF,
and many other surfaces, including automotive.
Maybe top coated with enamel, water based, acrylic lacquer and 2-pack finishes.
Metal
Primer Anti-Corrosive
Red Oxide 6601 / Deep Blue 6612 / Grey
6565 / Aluminium 6569
Fast drying metal primer with anti-corrosive properties for
all metals requiring protection against rust. Long term protection
allows primed products to be left in the weather for extended
periods before finishing. Ideally suited to rust prevention
in aggressive climates such as coastal salt affected areas. Brush, spray or roller application.
Epoxy
Anti-Corrosive Primer (Two-Pack)
Grey 6260
Ultimate corrosion protection for all steel surfaces (surpasses
zinc rich primer in performance). Excellent chemical resistance and
adhesion to “difficult” surfaces. Used as a long-lasting base coat
for heavy duty floor coatings. Many industrial and commercial
applications.
